Podiatrists look after the lower limbs, specialising in the feet and ankles. Podiatry treatment includes nail and skin care such as cutting long nails, treating ingrown nails, treating fungal infections, cutting out corns and callous, diagnosing and treating heel and arch pain and assessing and treating injuries. If it is on your feet, I can help!
No, a referral is not necessary in most cases.
A referral is required from your GP for clients with a Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA) Gold Card , Support at Home Packages, and those with chronic conditions who have a 'care plan' (Medicare).
if you have private health insurance with podiatry cover you may be eligible for a rebate toward the cost of the consultation. You should contact your health fund before your appointment to make sure.
I bring along a Mobile HICAPS machine that enables you to claim instantly from SELECT health funds. Otherwise I can give you a receipt to claim through your health fund manually.
Item numbers: F024 Initial Comprehensive Podiatry Consultation (Home-Based)
F034 Subsequent Comprehensive POodiatry Consultation (Home Based)
I will bring everything required for the consultation to your home, including sterile instruments, consumables, PPE, a stool, etc. You will just need to have a comfortable chair with good lighting.
Yes, if you are referred through your SAH provider. Government legislation requires a brokerage agreement between me and and your Provider - so please enquire.
Yes, I am able to invoice self- and plan-managed participants. I am able to travel outside my standard service area but do charge extra for travel.
Unfortunately it is not feasible to bulk bill my services.
If you have a a valid referral from yout GP, the fee is charged and the Medicare rebate will be placed into your nominated account within 24 hours. .
As I set aside time to travel to you and treat you, there is a 100% cancellation charge issued if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, or for 'no shows' (not there when I arrive/refusing care) .
If you cancel with less than 48 hours notice, and I am unable to rebook anyone else, there is a 50% cancellation charge.
This allows me to continue to provide this valuable service to patients.
I always send a courtesy reminder before your appointment.
Sorry I am currently at capacity and unable to take on any more patients. Please check back in a few months.
Kind regards, Lisa
